FREE!

i read the letters to the editor section of the chronicle and found this headline: ‘freedom isn’t free... you need to sacrifice.’

this is weird because i know the meaning of the word. free is free and nothing more. if you add something before or after this word the meaning should be different.

so i immediately searched the meaning of the word ‘free’ in the merriam-webster online. i was shocked at first but instantly realized and just shrugged because it’s already normal at how they manipulate the meaning of words. i find it funny and stupid that almost everybody fall for this crap. funny because people think that they really are free and stupid because we kill people for this word.

it is amusing to me how the word ‘free’ affects us. it makes us happy to see it in ads and it has the same effect when it is fed to us through the media. it’s like the magic word. it’s scary because the merriam-webster dictionary made it ‘official’ when they defined it.

i wasn’t convinced by their ‘official’ definition so i also searched the meaning in a tagalog-english and a spanish-english dictionary online. i saw how the american dictionary went a long way (too long) to define the word compared to the other two languages.

so please people... accept your fates. it is true that nothing and nobody is free in america. you ain’t free fools!

if you have no worries searching for the word ‘bomb’ in yahoo then you have the right to disagree.
